Most of the 15 students from Cape Cod Regional Technical High School ably wielded what looked like giant pliers and attached metal links to the scallop gear of the fishing vessels Three Sons and Godzilla, but sophomore Nash Badams looked like a pro. 

He hadn’t repaired a dredge before, but he worked in a boatyard, and is interested in a career in commercial fishing. His dad had worked on a sea clammer out of Wellfleet.
