NELSON, NEW ZEALAND - 21 SEPTEMBER 2026 - Snap Group today announced a unified operating structure bringing its regional and technology businesses together under a single identity, Electronic Monitoring Group (EMG), as it sets out its global growth plans. Ali Kennard has been appointed Group CEO to lead EMG through its initial growth and integration phase, working alongside a Board chaired by Nigel Skeggs.

As part of the change, three of Snap Group's regional businesses will operate under new names reflecting their place within EMG: Teem Fish will operate as EMG Americas, Pinpoint Earth as EMG Australasia, and Zenkai+ as EMG Asia. Nelson-based Snap Core will form EMG's technology division, continuing to develop the AI-powered cameras, satellite tracking hardware and software platforms at the heart of EMG's product offering.

“This is about building a group that can grow faster and enter new markets more effectively than any of its parts could alone,” said Nigel Skeggs, Chair of EMG. “Bringing our regional businesses together under one name gives us a clearer, more focused structure and a strong platform to take our technology into new markets.”

Kennard will lead EMG's day-to-day management and delivery of its priorities, working closely with the Board and a leadership team spanning EMG Americas, EMG Australasia, EMG Asia and the group's technology division.

“EMG brings together good people, proven technology and years of experience from across the group. We now offer customers a genuinely joined-up approach, from vessel tracking and electronic monitoring to cameras, data and analytics, going well beyond regulatory compliance alone.

Our customers already trust us to deliver world-class marine technology, and this new structure allows us to build on that foundation and innovate faster. It gives us the scale to compete globally while retaining the practical, customer-focused approach that made each of our businesses successful,” said Kennard.

EMG provides practical technology that helps fishermen understand their operations, protect valuable equipment and make better decisions at sea. Our products include vessel and gear-tracking systems, electronic monitoring cameras, sensors and the Nexus software platform, which brings location, video and operational data together in one place. These tools can improve safety, reduce lost gear, provide clearer insight into fishing activity and help operators work more efficiently. The same technology can also support sustainability programmes, fisheries research and regulatory compliance where required.

Marine and fi sheries remain at the heart of EMG's business. As the group grows, it will also extend its monitoring, camera and data technology into new marine and land-based markets where customers face similar operational challenges.
