The Coast Guard helped a fishing boat taking on water Tuesday night six miles east of Oregon Inlet.

The 43-foot commercial boat had three people aboard who notified the Coast Guard shortly after 11 p.m. that the boat was in distress.

A 47-foot lifeboat was sent to the scene and arrived shortly after 11:30 p.m., according to a news release and a spokesman. No injuries were reported.
