Sitting in Shem Creek are eight shrimp boats where there was once anywhere from 40 to 70 boats, depending on the season.
This morning that was almost down to a mere seven when one of the last shrimping boats, Mrs. Judy Too, started going under.
Captain Tommy Edwards says if he wasn't able to get to his boat when it began sinking and if North Charleston's Fire Department had not arrived with a pump, his livelihood would be dead.
