Commercial fishermen and others interested in Alaska’s pollock fleet will have a chance to hear directly from working trawl captains during a live conversation hosted by the Alaska Pollock Fishery Alliance.

The event, set for Monday, Nov. 2, will feature captains who fish in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska discussing their work, experiences on the water, and the decisions they make while fishing.

Organizers are inviting viewers to bring questions for a live Q&A, offering an opportunity to learn more about what goes into operating a pollock trawler and making decisions at sea.

The conversation comes as Alaska’s pollock fisheries remain part of broader discussions surrounding bycatch, salmon returns, and fisheries management in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska.

The event begins at noon Alaska time, or 1 p.m. Pacific, and will stream live on the Alaska Pollock Fishery Alliance Facebook page.
