4.) Meet the editors of National Fisherman Magazine
National Fisherman is the only publication devoted to covering the entire U.S. commercial fishing industry. At this year’s Expo the editorial team will be out in force, covering all the great things the Expo has to offer and hosting the Young Fisherman Track and the Fisherman of the Year Contest. 3.) The Best Special Events from Happy Hour in the Beer Garden to the Fisherman of the Year Contest
There’s nothing like free drinks to help fuel the conversation with vendors and colleagues. Take a few minutes to unwind and have a drink on us in the Pacific Marine Expo Beer Garden. Each happy hour will feature a prize drawing for a pair of Seahawk’s tickets, plus a special guest appearance by a Seahawk’s cheerleader – come get an autograph!
And on the final day of the show put your skills to the test in the annual Fisherman of the Year Competition, where mariners compete in three heats of rope splicing, net mending and blindfolded knot tying. Each heat’s winner will take away a cash prize and will move on to compete in the final round – the infamous survival suit challenge.
There is no fee to enter – just step on up! Get here early – slots fill up fast! This year's contest will take place on Tuesday, November 20th at 11:30 am on the Main Stage in the Alaska Hall.
2.) Pacific Marine Expo Education Program
Curated by the editorial team of National Fisherman Magazine, these industry education sessions are free to all Expo attendees and will cover topics such as marine safety, business management, regulatory issues, technical advancements and more.
