CURRIE - Construction continues at the future headquarters of Acme Smoked Fish of North Carolina, and so does the company's push to fill jobs.

 

Last year, the New York-based seafood processor announced plans to expand to the Cape Fear region. On Monday, its employee recruitment process will kick into high with the opening of a new batch of online applications.

 

“Those will be for the production associates,” said Jean Duncan, director of human resources.

 

Duncan said the company will be hiring some maintenance mechanics at a later point in time.

 

"We will be hiring 80 to 85 production associates and that’s the massive hiring that we’ll be starting next week,” she said.
