It’s been five days of fun in Rockland this week. And on Sunday, the Maine Lobster Festival finished up with thousands of visitors crowding the waterfront. Director of the festival Shannon Kinney talked about how much has changed in the 69 years of the celebration.

“We’ve seen significant growth of visitors here at the Maine Lobster Festival from all over the world. We have more than 50 countries represented here and almost all 50 states represented in visitors this year.”

There was no shortage of things to do at the festival this year. Carnival games, rides, and music entertained guests all week. One of the highlights of the final day was the Little Lobster Diaper Derby. Infants raced from one side of the stage to the other while parents used everything from puppies to a delicious meal to encourage their kids.
