Business leaders are looking to bring a new state-of-the-art salmon production facility to Harlan, Iowa.
A series of meetings are being held to try and attract investors to the project.
The company called, Inland Sea, has been working on plans for a facility since 2013.
The facility would be the largest salmon production system in the U.S. and has a price tag of almost $28 million dollars.
Those apart of the, Inland Sea project said the Midwest has three great qualities needed for the facility: great production of feed material, water and electricity.
All to help create this technologically advanced, re-circulating system, planned for Harlan.
Investors met, Thursday, at Stoney Creek in Sioux City, to hear about the new salmon production facility.
Company leaders talked about how raising the salmon in a controlled environment is best when dealing a product that is imported 90% of the time into the U.S.
