HARWICH — Beatrice Fox couldn't wait for fisherman Tom Smith to hand her the packages of bluefish, caught and frozen just days before.

Her mother, Eleanor Fox, knows the fish is best when seasoned and baked in the oven. But 14-year-old Beatrice will only have it one way.

"If I fry it," Fox said.

The Fox family were one of dozens that showed up Thursday evening at The Family Pantry of Cape Cod in Harwich, which was offering bluefish to its clients for the first time.

Caught by Smith, a longtime member of the Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance, the bluefish is the fourth catch since the collaboration between the pantry and the alliance started a little over a year ago.
