An ammonia leak on a commercial fishing vessel prompted a hazardous materials response from the Seattle Fire Department on the morning of Feb. 27.

The ship is docked in the 600 block of West Ewing Street in north Queen Anne near the Ballard Bridge. The location is the former Foss Maritime shipyard along the Lake Washington Ship Canal.

At 8:44 a.m., the Seattle Fire Department said the vessel was evacuated as a safety precaution.

Hazmat crews boarded the ship to investigate and were working on shutting off valves to stop the leak.

No injuries have been reported. Information courtesy of KOMO News.
