A Connecticut man has been sentenced to just over a year in prison for tax evasion tied to income he earned as a commercial fisherman in Massachusetts.

Brian Kobus of Durham was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Massachusetts to one year in prison and a day, according to the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Public Affairs. Following his prison term, he will be required to serve one year of supervised release and pay restitution to the IRS.
