Laramie is about 3,000 miles from Bristol Bay, Alaska, but that doesn’t stop a local bar from serving “some of the best salmon in the entire world.”

 

Dennis Small and Danny Punches, owners of 3rd Street Bar, have been serving wild-caught Alaskan salmon for the past three years.

 

“It’s something unique we can offer,” said Small, who’s been salmon fishing in Alaska for 27 years. “I can bring the fish down, and then we’re able to give the people of Laramie the best salmon in the world — in the middle of Wyoming.”

 

To get the fish, Small takes off three months each summer and travels to Bristol Bay, where he’s partners in a fishing operation.
