A 54-year-old commercial fisherman from Stonington, Connecticut, who was reported missing from a vessel at the Stonington Town Dock late Friday night, was found dead in the water on Sunday.
The man was reported missing at around 11 p.m. Friday, according to the Stonington Police Department and reported by WFSB News. Police said the individual was located deceased in the water in the immediate area of the vessel he was last known to be aboard. His identity has not been released.
Authorities indicated there does not appear to be anything suspicious related to the incident.
Multiple agencies assisted in the search and investigation, including the Pawcatuck, Yantic, Old Mystic, Stonington, and Westerly Fire Departments.
Additional response support came from the Stonington Ambulance Association, the Coast Guard, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, the Connecticut State Police Emergency Services Unit, and Providence Canteen. The incident remains under investigation.
