Three fishermen were rescued by the Coast Guard on Tuesday after their boat F/V Sea Puppy caught fire 1 mile east of St. Catherines Island, Ga.

A crew member called the Coast Guard command center in Charleston, S.C., at 3:16 p.m. to report that the boat was on fire and taking on water. A 29-foot response boat and a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew launched at approximately 3:25 p.m. from the Tybee Island, Ga., Coast Guard station.

The fishermen were hoisted from their burning boat and transported to Coast Guard Air Station Savannah.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the incident is under investigation.
