The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) is a public-private partnership between the State of Alaska and the Alaska seafood industry established to foster economic development of a renewable natural resource. At Pacific Marine Expo 2021, the organization showcased the key role that it plays in the repositioning of Alaska’s seafood industry as a competitive market-driven food production industry.

We talked with Nicole Alba and Abi Spofford from ASMI to further detail what the role means for people on all sides of the commercial fishing industry, how COVID has impacted their marketing efforts, what it means to #askforaslaska and much more.
