Glosten is an employee-owned, full-service consulting firm of naval architects, and marine, electrical, ocean, and production engineers. With offices in Seattle, Washington and Providence, Rhode Island, our design experience includes tugs, barges, dredges, passenger/car ferries, research vessels, and special purpose platforms.

Consulting and design services include hull, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems design, as well as construction management. We work with clients at every stage of vessel life.  In addition to newbuilds, we have a long resume of extreme modifications, lengthening’s, and upgrades to a wide range of vessel classes. Glosten has also developed specialized expertise in hydrodynamic analysis, climatology, and risk analysis to serve vessel operating clients, and marine civil engineers and contractors performing challenging in-water projects.

While we are particularly adept at tackling projects with challenging design criteria or new technologies, we are skilled in a wide variety of marine related engineering disciplines. Our team of 100 contains 43 professionally licensed engineers and includes personnel with seagoing experience and US Coast Guard operating licenses.

Glosten is also the parent company to Noise Control Engineering, LLC, a Massachusetts-based acoustical engineering consultancy specializing in noise and vibration measurement and control for marine, industrial, commercial, and military applications.
