Highliner Awards
Do you know someone that should be a National Fisherman Highliner?
Submissions are closed for 2023...stay tuned for info about winners
An NF Highliner is a career commercial fisherman who is also known for giving back to the industry, locally, nationally or globally. It is no easy task, and as such it deserves recognition. Those from all U.S. coasts are welcome to be nominated, and we encourage those with knowledge of all diverse fishing communities to submit a nominee.
The annual tradition of hailing leaders of the commercial fishing industry began in 1975 and it’s one that the National Fisherman team is opening up to our audience. Honorees will be featured in the print issue of National Fisherman magazine that honors individuals from all regions. They’ll also be able to take part in a special event at the Pacific Marine Expo that is designed to honor and showcase Highliner winners.
Some things to keep in mind:
- All nominees will be “considered” but that is not the same as “chosen.” However, an individual can’t be chosen if you’re not first considered.
- Only individual nominees can be considered. Companies, organizations and associations are not eligible
- Winners are announced each year but the full print feature will only appear in the quarterly edition of the magazine that highlights winners from every region.
- Judges choose the winners based on the subjective they place on an individuals contribution to the commercial fishing industry as a whole.
