BODEGA BAY, Calif. —

 

Three commercial fishermen were rescued on Monday morning when their 34-foot vessel struck a rock and started sinking near Salt Point on the Sonoma Coast.

 

The U.S. Coast Guard in San Francisco received a report at 6:10 a.m. of a sinking ship in Jenner, Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Adam Stanton said.

 

The Robert Croll struck a rock and was taking on water with three people aboard, Stanton said.

 

The fishing crew got in a lifeboat when dewatering equipment on board could not keep up with the flooding in the vessel, Stanton said.
