FALMOUTH - Crew members of a Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority ferry are being honored for their role in rescuing a fisherman who fell overboard from a commercial fishing vessel last summer.

The crew of the Nantucket diverted from the customary Hyannis-to-Nantucket route on the morning of Aug. 30 to rescue the fisherman, who fell from the vessel Sky Pie, according to a statement from the boat line. Capt. David Moore launched the ferry's rescue boat to recover the man. Once the man was aboard, the ferry's crew administered first aid.
