Mayor: Donation to S.C. shrimp boats 'a start'

LISTEN

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- All 13 shrimp boats at Shem Creek have been blessed.

While the fisherman wait patiently for the start of shrimping season, the town of Mt. Pleasant is helping lift the burden of an often challenging industry.

"When they say it's time to go, and pull those nets and get ready to go shrimping, that their boats will be ready and they will physically be ready to go,' said Mayor Linda Page.
