WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla.- Oyster farming is a way of life for many in Wakulla County, but farmers and oyster experts say Hermine has closed down the bay.

"There are temporary closures. The bay closes when we get a significant amount of fresh water to come in," Oyster farmer Bob Danzey said.

FAMU Vice President of Research and Government Relations Timothy Moore said "It causes for us to slow down on the harvest."

Bacterias like vibrio are slowing the harvest.
