A 28-year-old commercial fisherman was arrested after stabbing another crew member aboard a boat in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, according Unalaska law enforcement.

In a statement on the incident, Deputy Chief Jennifer Shockley explained that the Unalaska police department received a report that a crew member aboard the F/V Aleutian Sable had been "badly injured" in a knife attack.

Other crew members aboard the vessel identified Anthony Cervantes as the attacker. Police found him about a quarter mile from the boat. He was arrested and charged with felony assault.

According to reports, the victim had a "deep laceration to his upper abdomen" and was medevaced to Anchorage for emergency surgery. The victim is in stable condition, according to the statement.

Police have not released further information on the victim or the cause of the incident.
