In an effort to export more Alaska products into Southeast Asian markets, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) will be sending eight seafood industry members to the region to tour facilities and give demonstrations at the end of the month.

The industry members will visit Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam "in order to educate the local trade about the species available from Alaska and their unique qualities", ASMI international program director Hannah Lindoff said to Undercurrent News in an email.

The primary goal of the trip will be to spread Alaska's brand name throughout the region through workshops, training and visits.
